Coffee & Product

What grind sizes do you offer?
We offer five precise grind settings, each calibrated for optimal extraction:
  • Whole Bean — recommended for peak freshness and aroma
  • Espresso — fine, powder-like consistency for pressurized brewing
  • Filter / Drip — medium grind for pour-over and automatic brewers
  • French Press — coarse grind for full immersion brewing
  • AeroPress — medium-fine, optimized for the AeroPress chamber
You can update your grind preference at any time from your account settings.
Do you offer decaf?
Yes. We maintain a rotating selection of Swiss Water Process decaffeinated coffees — a chemical-free method that preserves the full character of the bean. Our current decaf offering is always listed in the Collection with the ◆ DECAF designation. Subscribers can request decaf as their monthly selection.
How fresh is the coffee?
Extraordinarily fresh. We roast every Tuesday and Thursday in small batches at our Neustiftgasse roastery. Your coffee ships within 24 hours of roasting — never before. Each bag is stamped with its exact roast date. We believe coffee is a perishable craft, not a shelf-stable commodity.
How should I store my coffee?
Keep your beans in the resealable bag we provide, pressed free of excess air, in a cool and dark cupboard. Avoid the refrigerator — moisture and competing aromas are the enemies of good coffee. For best results, consume within four weeks of the roast date. If you must store longer, freezing whole beans in an airtight container is acceptable.
What brewing method do you recommend?
Every coffee in our collection includes a brew guide card with our recommended method and ratios. As a general principle:
  • Light roasts — pour-over (V60, Chemex) to highlight delicate florals
  • Medium roasts — AeroPress or filter for balanced sweetness
  • Dark roasts — espresso or French press for full body
The best method is the one you enjoy most. We simply provide the starting coordinates.

Shipping & Subscriptions

What's your shipping schedule?
Subscription orders roast and ship on Tuesdays and Thursdays. One-time orders placed before 10:00 CET ship same-day if it's a roast day, or the next roast day otherwise. Standard delivery takes 2–4 business days within the EU; express delivery (included with Das Geschenk tier) arrives in 1–2 business days.
Can I pause my subscription?
Absolutely. You can skip any upcoming shipment or pause your subscription entirely from your account dashboard — no penalties, no awkward phone calls. We believe coffee should arrive when you want it, not out of obligation. Resume anytime with a single click.
Do you ship internationally?
We currently ship throughout Austria, the European Union, Switzerland, and the United States. International shipping rates apply for destinations outside the EU. For specific country availability or bulk international orders, please reach out via our contact page — we're happy to arrange something.

Business & Visits

Do you offer wholesale pricing?
We do. We partner with cafés, restaurants, hotels, and offices across Vienna and beyond. Wholesale accounts receive custom pricing based on volume, a dedicated account manager, equipment consultation, and barista training sessions. Contact us at wholesale@wienroesterei.at to discuss your needs.
Can I visit the roastery?
We welcome visitors to our Neustiftgasse roastery during regular hours (Monday–Friday 07:00–18:00, Saturday 08:00–16:00). Drop in for a cup at our tasting bar, or book a guided roastery tour for a behind-the-scenes look at our process — from green bean selection through roasting and quality control. Tours run Wednesday and Saturday mornings; reserve via our contact page.
